MANILA, Philippines — Barely two weeks after a public dispute over financial obligations, ABS-CBN Corporation announced today that it has settled its outstanding dues with TV5 and Mediaquest Holdings, while simultaneously securing a new nationwide home for its flagship channel.
Realignment with ALLTV
In an official statement released Wednesday, ABS-CBN confirmed it has signed a licensing agreement with Advanced Media Broadcasting System Inc. (AMBS). Starting January 2, 2026, the Kapamilya Channel will officially air on ALLTV analog and digital platforms nationwide.
This move effectively restores a significant presence for ABS-CBN programs on the Channel 2 frequency, which was formerly held by the network before its franchise was denied in 2020. Under this new agreement, viewers can watch top-rated shows including:
- FPJ’s Batang Quiapo
- Roja
- What Lies Beneath
- It’s Showtime
- ASAP
- TV Patrol
Resolution of TV5 Dispute
The announcement serves as the final chapter to the tension that surfaced on December 4, 2025, when TV5 issued a notice to terminate their five-year content agreement. At the time, TV5 accused ABS-CBN of "willful failure" to remit nearly ₱946 million in advertising revenue.
ABS-CBN’s latest statement clarifies that the dispute has been professionally resolved:
"ABS-CBN has settled its obligations with TV5/Mediaquest in accordance with each party's agreements. We thank Mr. Manny V. Pangilinan and TV5 for providing a home for some ABS-CBN programs since 2021."
This resolution follows ABS-CBN’s earlier defense that there was "no truth" to insinuations of willful delay, attributing the payment challenges to the "severe financial constraints" the company has faced since its 2020 shutdown.
