Oscars 2025: ‘Anora’ wins best picture

I was wrong.

The 97th Academy Awards have officially concluded, with Anora emerging as the ceremony's biggest winner, taking home five awards, including the prestigious Best Picture honor. The star-studded event, held on March 3, 2025 (Philippine time) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, celebrated the finest films and performances of 2024 across 23 categories.

Hosted by comedian and podcaster Conan O'Brien in his debut as the Oscars emcee, the ceremony was broadcast live on ABC in the United States and streamed for the first time ever on Hulu. In the Philippines, fans were able to watch the live broadcast on Disney+, marking a historic moment for local viewers to experience the Oscars in real-time.
